Choosing a location

double-line

We are located just outside of Music City in the small town of Spring Hill, TN. We do photo sessions all around the Nashville, TN metro area – from downtown & East Nashville to Columbia, TN.

The location of your session will set the tone of your photographs. You might want to consider a location that means something special to you & your family – a favorite hangout, the place where you first met, or your own home. We will work together to choose a location that fits your family’s style & personality. Here are some ideas for photo session locations:

At Home . . .

Home sessions capture your family in your element just as you are. You and your little ones are comfortable at home. Home sessions allow for lots of fun & play. Not to mention quick and easy access to changes of clothes, snacks, and toys for the kids. And as a bonus, they aren’t dependent on the weather.

Tips for home sessions:

  • Choose a room with big windows that get lots of natural light at the time your session will take place.
  • Cut the clutter. Feel free to include sentimental objects, but always try to keep it simple.

A Note on Lighting

We specialize in natural light photography. We believe this light is most flattering on everyone (rather than flourescent or flash light). It is natural & beautiful. When choosing a time and location the most important thing to keep in mind is lighting. We usually suggest early morning for a beautiful soft light, or late afternoon for a warm golden light.

If we are shooting at mid-day (especially during summer months!), we want to look for a location with lots of open shade, or an indoor location with lots of windows & indirect sunlight. Of course we are happy to make suggestions and help you find the perfect location & lighting for your family session!
